A fantastic professional development opportunity - Teaching for Mastery Open lessons

The session will start with the TFMS setting the lesson in context then you will observe the lesson (or part of) with a focus on one of the Five Big Ideas. Afterwards there will be a discussion around what was observed and the impact with a chance to ask questions. This is not about judging a lesson but sharing teaching approaches and recognising how these decisions impact on the learning.

We are offering a range of lessons across the hub area and across different year groups including mixed age classes. Some lessons will demonstrate the Mastering Number programme and one specialist is able to offer an open lesson focusing on the new KS2 Number programme which is currently in pilot stage.

This is a tremendous chance for professional development for you and your colleagues.

Each year, we run a number of online workshops for local teachers and schools. The sessions are suitable for those who have already been involved in hub projects, but also for teachers who would like to understand a bit more about Teaching for Mastery techniques.
