Berkshire PGCE Collaboration Day

On Monday 7th March, The Hub along with The Willink School played host to the current cohort of University of Reading trainee teachers. During the day,  the trainees observed a year 7 Mastery lesson – with all 36 observers in the main hall! Year 7 felt very special indeed to have such a novel lesson.

The trainee teachers then spent the rest of the morning with our Mastery Specialists exploring Cuisenaire Rods for teaching fractions and planning units of work to incorporate the use of manipulatives in Maths.

The participants gained a lot of insight into Teaching for Mastery and we are proud to be supporting our colleagues from other schools and institutions on a regular basis. We look forward to continuing to work with the teachers as they embark on their teaching careers, through the Early Career Teacher Programmes offered at both Primary and Secondary level.

To find out more about the support we offer to Early Career Teachers, view the details on our Primary and Secondary Work Group pages under the Professional Development tab.
