Open Work Groups and CPD
What is an Open Work Group?
We have a variety of different types of Work Groups; some focus on school-wide development whereas others focus on individual practitioner development - so there's sure to be a group for you!
Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics (SKTMs) are fully-funded personal professional development groups designed by the NCETM to improve subject knowledge and pedagogy of non-specialist teachers. We typically have four different SKTMs running:
- SKTM - Secondary Non-Specialists Teachers
- SKTM - Secondary Teaching Assistants
- SKTM - Early Careers Teachers (ECTs)
Year 5 - 8 Continuity Work Groups are for those who teach and/or have responsibility for the maths curriculum in Years 5 to 8. Participants may be subject leaders, phase leaders or teachers with responsibility for transition in a secondary school.
SEND Work Groups are designed to improve the teaching and support of mathematics for pupils with SEND.
